Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
You can read parlo.party without an account, and we do not try to identify who reads the site. If you create an account, we store the details described below.
Accounts
When you create an account we store your username, the date the account was created, and your password in a salted, hashed form. We never store the password itself and cannot read it. While you are logged in, a record of your login session is kept so the site recognises you. We also store your access level and, if they apply, a ban or timeout on the account. We do not ask for an email address or any other personal details.
Your username, access level and the date you joined are shown on your member page and can be found by anyone using the member search. Some accounts also have a profile picture, and any account can set a short profile quote; both are shown publicly. Bans and timeouts are visible only to the site's staff.
Threads and replies you post in the forums, including any image you attach, are stored and shown publicly under your username until they are deleted. If your account is deleted, your posts stay but no longer show your name. Replies and new usernames are checked automatically against a list of blocked patterns.
The site keeps a list of your recent notifications (who mentioned, replied to or reacted to you, and new posts in threads you follow) and of the threads you follow. If you report a post, the moderators are shown your username and the reason you chose.
To stop automated abuse, the site keeps a short-lived count of sign-up and login attempts against the IP address and username they were made with. These counts expire on their own, usually within an hour.
Information collected when you visit
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and stores the images and files shown on them. Like any hosting provider, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This includes your IP address, the page or file requested, the date and time, and browser details such as the user agent. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy.
IP addresses may also be used to enforce bans under the Terms of Service, including by blocking an address from the site.
We do not run advertising or analytics scripts, and we do not sell or share visitor data.
Cookies
The site does not set cookies for visitors who are not logged in. Logging in to an account sets one cookie that keeps you logged in, for up to 30 days or until you log out. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example to tell people apart from automated traffic.
Links and embedded content
Pages may link to other websites and may show embedded YouTube videos. The videos are loaded from YouTube's privacy-enhanced address (youtube-nocookie.com), but YouTube, a Google service, still receives your IP address and browser details when a page containing a video loads, and may set cookies once you play it. Other sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.
Your rights and contact
If you have a question about this policy, or want to ask about data relating to you, email contact@parlo.party.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
